Abstract
A rotary air preheater includes a housing with a rotor divided into sections by diaphragms. Sector plates create sealing relations with rotor ends. A sensing device uses a compressed air jet directed at a flange, combined with pressure sensors, to determine the distance between sector plate and flange via pressure differential measurements.
